The MD1230A is the industry’s first portable Ethernet/IP network data analyzer with dual functionality of performance analysis and network monitoring integrated into the same instrument. The built in LCD display with intuitive GUI and modular architecture makes the MD1230A a versatile and an easy to use solution that can be used in all testing environments ranging from R&D, manufacturing to installation and maintenance.
The MD1230A mainframe has five slots which can be configured with various interface modules available such as - 10M/100M Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 2.5G POS and/or 10G POS modules. All interface modules are field installable and offer full flexibility in terms of the mixture of modules that can be installed within a single MD1230A unit. Furthermore, multiple MD1230A units can be daisy chained together and synchronously connected to increase the port density. Optionally, a GUI software is also available to remotely control the unit/s from an external PC through a 10M/100M Ethernet connection. Multiple user function is also supported by the MD1230A which enables optimum utilization of the unit. When the control software is installed on several PCs in an R&D environment, for example, several researchers can use the same MD1230A unit which will increase the R&D efficiency.
The MD1230A offers a number of performance analysis features for Engineering, Conformance, Functional, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance testing of terabit routers, switches during R&D, manufacturing as well as interoperability testing and/or comparative analysis during lab evaluation by various service providers. A very sophisticated yet simple to use stream editor available in the MD1230A enables the user to construct complex data flows that can be transmitted into the DUT at full wire speed (even at 10G). It supports 2 types of QoS settings for the router’s performance verification of QoS mechanisms. In addition, the automatic benchmarking test suite for performance analysis defined by IETF in RFC 1242 and RFC 2544 is fully integrated into the MD1230A which enables user free testing with the press of a single button and thus improving test efficiency. |
