The Airespace™ 4100 WLAN Appliance delivers intelligent RF management, security, and mobility capabilities to enterprises with existing Ethernet infrastructures. By creating an RF overlay network on top of existing network backbones, the Airespace 4100 WLAN Appliance makes wireless LAN deployment simple and cost effective.
The Airespace 4100 WLAN Appliance leverages multiple Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports for resiliency. Multiple Airespace 4100 WLAN Appliances can be deployed in conjunction with one another for network-wide fault tolerance. In the unlikely event of an appliance failure, a backup Airespace 4100 WLAN Appliance will assume RF management and security functions for the lost device, ensuring minimal network downtime.
The Airespace 4100 WLAN Appliance eliminates the need for physical connectivity to access points (APs). As a result, it supports twice as many APs as competing hardware platforms. This includes the Airespace 1200 Access Point, as well as any third-party AP supporting the Lightweight Access Point Protocol (LWAPP). With the Airespace 4100 WLAN Appliance, enterprises can cost effectively scale their wireless network to best accommodate evolving user requirements.
